8 Curatorial Thesis

Our curatorial theses outlines the principles by which we evaluate projects for our launchpad and marketplace.

Geographical lens.

We are focusing on projects and creators from the Middle East & Africa as a starting point, while remaining open to creators and stories from other non-mainstream markets. We choose the MENA region to start with due to its conducive conditions for entertainment, web3, gaming, and creative industries, and the ability to serve a local, digitally, and entertainment-savvy audience.

Universal storytelling.

We seek stories that blend cultural nuances with universal storytelling traits such as emotion, bonds, and inspiration. Our team aims to flesh out these narratives, making them approachable and entertaining to newly built audiences.

Malleability to transfer to other mediums.

Intellectual properties should be able to translate into various forms of media, expressing traits that allow stories to be located and built in a larger world. We analyze the originality and difficulty of transforming these worlds into concise products that can fit formats like films, games, and publishing.

The founding creator.

Franchises benefit greatly from the creativity and charisma of their initial creators, who serve as story ambassadors and magnets for other creators. We seek creators who understand and respect the practice of credit sharing, recognizing that successful franchises are the result of contributions from many talents.

Feasibility at pre-production stage

Our launchpad and marketplace is a commercial entity that needs to prove its products can build audiences, engage in storytelling, and transition to other mediums for commercial value growth. While we value great vision, a promising piece of that vision must be expressed by the end of the pre-production stage.

Genre agnostic, ethically sound

We are generally genre agnostic, with the exception of franchises centered around extreme brutality, violence, or sexual profanity. This is our curatorial choice, though we respect teams who choose otherwise.

These theses guide our evaluation process, ensuring we select and nurture the most promising projects for development and success.
