Franchise fly-wheel

The franchise development flywheel is a classical model known in the entertainment industry, where franchises transcend a single medium, moving across various products to reach new audiences and offer diverse content interactions. We see value in blending traditional formats of lore and franchise building, such as publishing and film, with new media like games and attractions, and the latest innovations in AR, VR, MR, and digital collectibles.
Our approach, designing IPs and franchises for 2024 and beyond, allows us the space to experiment with new design architectures for characters, stories, and worlds. The 3RD UNIT franchise flywheel envisions creating expansive universes with broad foundational rules while starting storytelling in focused, detailed aspects that gradually expand outward.
We will also be conscious of integrating monetization opportunities with lore development. This may involve early-stage lore development through art books, anthologies, and short stories, combined with gaming experiences (especially mobile) and pop-up standalone attractions. Our aim is to design flexible, multi-medium franchises that engage and grow with their audience over time.
